I designed product icons and modal sheet illustrations for Twitter’s newest feature called “Swish”, which facilitates switching between ranked and reverse chronological timelines. I collaborated with the Product Design team and through A/B user testing, we landed on a homepage entry point icon with an illustration pop-up selection to facilitate the switch between timelines.
The sparkle was a motif throughout the experience and acts as a visual metaphor to convey how people on Twitter can control their timeline like magic. When the feature went live, it was so well received that the sparkle emoji was the #1 trending emoji on Twitter. As a result, I collaborated with the Product Design Team on several projects to handle their iconography needs including Twitter Dark Mode.
